Admission Procedure

 

            Eligibility for Admission

 

For first year programme

 

            a) 10th Standard passed or equivalent

            b) 10th Standard passed + I.T.I. Passed. (Approved by NCVT, 1 year/ 2 years)

 

For lateral Entry: 

 

            a) HSC Examination passed in academic groups (with maths, physics and chemistry)

            b) HSC Examination passed in vocational groups (with engineering subjects) 

           

Multi Point Entry and Credit System (MPECS)

 

            Multi point entry and credit system is a new concept in techinical education in Tamilnadu at the diploma level. It provides an opportunity for students with different qualifications to enter the diploma programmes. This is a formal and flexible system of learning.

             Under this system, weightage in terms of credits will be given to studets with higher qualification while joining the diploma programme.

 

Students Admission

 

Both boys and girls are admitted in the first year as per the following allocation:

 

             1. Xth Standard or equivalent passed  -  95%

             

             2. ITI Passed  -  5%

         

             3. HSC Academic Passed (Lateral Entry)  -  10% of intake

 

             4. HSC Vocational Passed (Lateral Entry)  -  10% of intake

 

Conditions for Admission

 

        Candidates are admitted for the diploma programme at different entry levels according to their entry qualification. Age limit and entry qualification will be followed as per the government of Tamilnadu admission rules from time to time.
